Classic White Corian

21 Feb

Well, the counter tops were installed today as planned!

Although, we matched our kitchen cabinets in here, I wanted to do something a little different with the counter tops. So, instead of the black quartz, we went with bright, white Corian to help brighten up the space. Since there aren’t any windows in here (yet…), it can feel dark and blah. I thought keeping as much stuff bright white would prevent that from happening. I know white, on white, on white can start to feel sterile but I think the bright green paint keeps things fun.

Well, let’s get to the point- here’s how things are looking now:

I think they look great and I’m happy with the way things are turning out. But I know not everyone would make the same choices, what do you think? Would you have matched the kitchen counter tops? Or would you have done something else completely? Like butcher block or a fun pop of color?

Slowly but surely we are inching along and finishing this space up. You saw our to do list here, so it’s now up to us to get it finished. The next few weekends are filled with non-house stuff, but hopefully by the time March is over, our laundry nook will be complete!

You can also catch a glimpse of a new addition to the kitchen from this angle- we are testing out a “beverage center” on the wall between the pantry and the laundry/mud room space. The table we are using is a bit low for this purpose, but it’s good enough to test out how things function. We might build our own table to fit our specifications exactly, but we plan to keep Riley’s food underneath it and the coffee maker on it. We’ve also contemplated a beer fridge underneath it too, so we will see. Of course we’ll keep you updated as we go… this is definitely NOT a priority!

Hope your Friday is fabulous!
