And We’re Back…. With Some News

9 Nov

Last time I posted was in 2013. Wow, so much has happened since then! I promise to get to all of the in between stuff, but I could not let this month go unnoticed or without celebration. Yes, November means Thanksgiving. It means Christmas and the new year are just around the corner. But it means a bit more than that to us now. You see, November is also National Adoption Awareness Month.

For 4+ years, we’ve kept our hopes of a growing family mostly to ourselves. We’ve hid the struggles and tears, but are so excited to share the joy of our next step to a family of four (of course, Riley counts! 🙂 ). Several months ago now we left the world of “trying to get pregnant” to join the world of “paper pregnant” and we couldn’t be more excited to see where this part of our journey goes. So it is with extreme happiness that we shout it out – “We’re Adopting!”

When this blog was first started, I viewed it as a way to share our progress in making our house a home. Our home is so much more than the 4 walls and the cute projects we tackle inside of them. What I love most about my home is who I share it with (Thanks Tad Carpenter for the quote!), and I always envisioned using the blog as a way to share our life as a family, too. So now that we’re back from the infertility haze, I hope to share more about our life, love, and the pursuit of happiness (and the pursuit to a family of 4!)!
